Project Proposal:
Inquiry Project
SUBJECT: Dystopia
GUIDING Q: "Are people in positions of power just cowards that need to enforce strict rule
over society to protect their precious egos?"
RATIONALE: I truly want to study this idea because I've convened a powerful belief that
dystopian leaders are, in fact, cowardly figures masking themselves behind
their presumptuous exterior by ruthlessly ruling over a society. Evidence to
support my theory can be found throughout pages and pages of literature, and
even exist in the world to this day.
SUMMARY: Powerful figures are not only egotistical cowards contained by the pages of
Dystopian literature, but also in the world we know and live in today. For
example, President Snow in "The Hunger Games" by Suzanne Collins is
intimidated by protagonist, Katniss Everdeen, and pursues to eliminate her.
Also, Adolf Hitler in 1945 grew afraid of infinitely losing his power, and
cowardly killed himself, afraid to face the consequences.
PREDICTION: I believe I will discover valid and quality evidence to support my question of
theory. I also believe I'll read about leaders both literature, and in our society.
